It is a wine, which comes from the hills at the feet of Alpi Apuane, in the province of Massa-Carrara until maremma livornese and Elba Island. The name Vermentino probably comes from vermena, an Italian word (which is out of fashion), which suggests a young, thin and flexible branch.
